One of my larger projects to date, New York Entreprenuer Week has successfully launched! New York Entrepreneur Week (NYEW) is the premier not-for-profit entrepreneur forum creating a movement throughout New York State.

In January, I was approached by HP to write an article “Using WordPress to Grow Small Businesses” for their Logoworks Inside Small Business Blog. It was a successful article and the visitor feedback ultimately led me to start web design and marketing agency, First Time Online LLC.

Based on popular demand, I was approached to write for their newsletter, which has a distribution of about 80,000+ and contributors have seen good results from their articles. I put together another article “Free Website Essentials 101″ and this time I included more free tips to help bootstrapped start ups harness essential tasks that will define the overall success of their site. The best part is most of the listed advice could be done for free! I included a link to both my blog (MarketingBlog.NET) and (First Time Online LLC) and so far have seen strong and relevant traffic.

The website is nearly completed and already picked up a few leads. It’s fact…you can’t afford to NOT have a website! I wish I had more to say, but time to get cracking on the website.

That’s right…I’m building a website myself. I figured, if I’m going to start a web design/marketing business, how bad would it look if I used someone else to design my site? I like to be hands on and I’m happy to say, my clients enjoy knowing that these sites are not being built by some underpaid worker in India. And the best part is…the price is the same. I am building very simple sites for very small businesses. If you are looking to gain an online presence for the first time, then feel free to keep updated on this website. I am implementing RSS and Newsletter functionality within the next week.
